The quality of water after the flood is very turbid and dirty, so it takes more time for the water to settle and filter than usual.
According to statistics from Tuyen Quang Water Supply and Drainage Joint Stock Company, most of the clean water supply systems in the province have been damaged to varying degrees.
Level I pipelines in some locations were broken by floodwaters such as Trang Da, Tan Long, My Bang. Some pumping stations, pumps, and electrical cabinets were flooded and damaged.
Mr. Le Van Hai, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Tuyen Quang Water Supply and Drainage Joint Stock Company, said that in order to ensure the quality of clean water for daily life and prevent unexpected incidents to people and property, Tuyen Quang Water Supply and Drainage Joint Stock Company had to temporarily stop supplying water due to force majeure. Limiting water supply to areas heavily affected by floods in Tuyen Quang city and districts and towns in the province during the days of high floods.
The company has resolutely directed officers and employees to check the damage and make repairs. As soon as electricity is available, the company can supply water to people in parallel with electricity.
However, due to the water supply being interrupted during the flood, some pipelines are empty, needing time to transmit and fill, so some downstream areas have low water pressure. In addition, the water quality after the flood is very turbid, with a lot of mud, requiring longer settling and filtering time.
The company is operating intensively to restore and increase water supply pressure to remote areas at the end of the source and it is expected that the water flow and pressure will stabilize on September 13 and 14.
At the same time, the company is also focusing on human resources to repair damage and incidents in the pipelines caused by floods; organizing 3 continuous shifts to quickly and stably supply clean water to customers.
