The Vincom Shopping Centre has been comprehensively and modernly invested, meeting the shopping and entertainment needs of residents.
Currently, the province is home to one shopping center, five supermarkets, 97 markets, over 10.000 grocery and convenience stores, 26 WinMart+ outlets, and 18 points for showcasing and selling OCOP and agricultural products. The expansion of modern distribution systems such as WinMart+, MediaMart, The Gioi Di Dong (Mobile World), and Dien May Xanh has transformed the local commercial landscape. Notably, the rise of e-commerce, with non-cash payment methods such as QR code scanning, POS, and mobile banking, has increased consumer convenience.
Districts like Son Duong have actively shifted the management model of traditional markets to enterprises and cooperatives while simultaneously upgrading infrastructure. Son Duong currently has 30 operating markets, with total investment exceeding VND47 billion, including over VND34 billion from businesses and individuals. The district also has more than 3,000 convenience stores, supermarkets, and retail outlets offering a wide variety of goods and services to residents.
In addition, many local enterprises have made strong investments in the commercial sector. Goldmart Supermarket in Son Duong Town is a prominent example, with a floor area of 400 square meters, focusing on OCOP and specialty agricultural products. The business is planning to expand its premises and enhance the quality of its products and services to better meet growing customer demand.
The province has also invested over VND57 billion from various funding sources to renovate and construct new traditional markets. The network of mini-supermarkets and convenience stores is steadily expanding. A highlight in the development of commercial service complexes is the Bach Thao Ngan entertainment and service zone in Tuyen Quang City, with a total investment of over VND205 billion.
According to Mr. Loc Kim Lien, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue in the first five months of 2025 reached over VND14.200 billion, an increase of 110.97% compared to the same period last year. However, shopping centers, supermarkets, and convenience stores remain concentrated in urban areas, while upgraded traditional markets in rural areas continue to struggle in attracting vendors.
In the coming time, the province will continue refining policies, improving the investment environment, and synchronously developing commercial infrastructure across both urban and rural areas. The target by 2025 is to achieve total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue of VND37.000 billion, representing an increase of more than 112% compared to 2024.
