Preliminary statistics from the Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue show that by the end of September 11, the historic flood had killed 5 people and damaged and affected 19,000 houses.
In the province, all meetings and many other activities have been ordered to stop to focus on responding to floods after the storm's circulation.
Regardless of day or night, the leaders of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Committee, departments, branches, and functional forces of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue have directly gone to each key damaged area to direct and implement the work of prevention, control, and overcoming the consequences.
Before the flood season, the province also issued a plan: proactively grasp information on weather developments to promptly direct the work of preventing and fighting floods and storms; continue to promote propaganda among the people about plans to prevent and mitigate natural disasters, storms and floods, and thoroughly overcome subjectivity.
After the damage occurred, the people of Tuyen Quang also received special attention from the leaders of the Party, State, Ministries, and Central branches.

Previously, the working delegation of the Party Central Committee Secretariat led by Senior Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Standing Member of the Central Military Commission, Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army; Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Minh Hoan visited and shared with people in flooded areas and directed the work of overcoming natural disaster damage in the province.
People of Son Duong town clean up after the flood.
Thanks to the good implementation of the 4 on-site motto (on-site command, on-site forces and means, on-site logistics); promoting the responsibility of the political system at all levels; the self-rescue efforts of each person; the spirit of mutual assistance in the community, timely rescue was carried out, bringing tens of thousands of people in high-risk areas to safe temporary shelters; sharing with each other accommodation and food, which were very rare during the days of flood evacuation.
Currently, the water is receding very quickly. Localities have been making efforts to overcome the consequences of the historic flood, by quickly cleaning, disinfecting, re-establishing activities, rebuilding infrastructure works to serve people's lives, and supporting people's production and daily life.
