A ridge acrossing Pho Day River in ATK Kim Quan Commune facilitates the transportation of local people in the region.
With the efforts of the government, local people and support resources from the State, the commune completed 19 out of 19 criteria of building a new-style rural area in 2019.
The commune's average per capita income is VND39.2 million per year. The ratio of poor households decreased to 67 households, accounting for 7.97%. The whole commune has 98.68% of households achieving the title of "Cultural family" while 7 out of 7 hamlets awarding the title of "Cultural hamlet".
In the 2020 - 2025 period, Kim Quan commune is striving to complete the standards of an enhanced new-style rural countryside, towards building a model new-style rural area.
Kim Quan Commune has over 3,000 hectares of natural land and nearly 2,000 hectares of forests, including 1,200 hectares of production forests. Local people have taken advantage of large grasslands and raw forage sources to promote cattle raising forwards commodity products.
The commune is making efforts to develop ATK Kim Quan buffalo brand and strengthen 3 cooperatives of Kim Quan Agro-Forestry Cooperatives, Kim Quan Agricultural Production Service Cooperative, Kim Quan Tea Production and Processing Cooperative as well as build brand of specialty products such as Ngoc Thuy Kim Quan tea and Khuon He seedless persimmon.
In addition, the local authorities have focused on preserving and promoting the national cultural identity. Beside green rice fields, many traditional stilt houses of ethnic minority groups are looming at the foot of hills. Winding at the foot of mountains, Pho Day River is more beautiful with the murmur of water and the rays of sunlight rise in the morning.
