A staff of Phuong Bac General Hospital communicating about the harmful effects of tobacco to patients.
Currently, 100% of officials and over 90% of local people who come to transact at the People's Committee of Yen Son Town (Yen Son District) have strictly complied with the regulations on no smoking at work. In order to build a smoke-free working environment, the unit has promoted propaganda about the harmful effects of tobacco to all officials, party members and local people in many ways such as hanging signs banning smoking right in the lobby or planting a lot of trees to create a fresh atmosphere. At the same time, officials and employees have signed a commitment not to smoke at work, considering smoking as one of the year-end review criteria.
The model of "Smoke-free environment" is strictly implemented by 100% of health facilities in the province. Typically, Tuyen Quang Provincial General Hospital is one of the hospitals that have actively implemented measures to build a smoke-free working environment for many years. The unit has installed propaganda signs and posters right at the entrance with slogans such as: "Stop before it's too late", "Don't let tobacco destroy your lungs", etc.
In the context of the Covid-19 pandemic, smoking increases the transmission of the disease, especially those with cardiovascular diseases, cancer, diabetes, etc. Therefore, to develop a smoke-free environment, each person needs to raise their awareness and responsibility in the prevention of tobacco harms.
