Local people in Hamlet 4, Thai Binh Commune, Yen Son District having access to clean water.
Every year, the Tuyen Quang Provincial Centre for Rural and Clean Water and Environmental Sanitation coordinates with communes to organise propaganda programmes contests such as drawing picture, cleaning up environment in order to respond to the National Week of Clean Water and Sanitation (April 19 to May 6) and the Make the World Cleaner Campaign (August 28). Due to the complicated development of the Covid-19 epidemic, this year, the centre has just raised local people's awareness of clean water and hygiene via social network sites, posters, banners and slogans to avoid crowed places.
With the theme "Ensuring water security for rural and clean water supply and sanitation for public health", the propaganda work will focus on a number of activities in an information and education strategy to raise awareness and change behaviours among the rural community in terms of clean water and environmental hygiene. The strategy calls for the people to use clean water, hygienic latrines, collect and treat garbage, and keep breeding facilities on the farm clean and tidy.
To date, the percentage of households in the province using hygienic water accounts for about 95%.
