Eliminating temporary housing in Kien Thiet commune

TQO - Recently, the Party Committee, authorities, Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations in Kien Thiet commune (Yen Son) have made efforts to integrate the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses with programs and projects to help poor households.

The house of Mr. Phung Xuan Lay, Dong Di village, Kien Thiet commune (Yen Son) is gradually being completed.

Kien Thiet is a remote commune, a particularly difficult economic and social area of Yen Son district. The commune has 17 villages, 1,443 households, 6,623 people and 11 ethnic groups, mainly the Mong ethnic group (accounting for 34.30%); Tay ethnic group (accounting for 29.82%); Kinh ethnic group (accounting for 14.51%). Currently, the rate of poor households in the entire commune is 479 households (accounting for 51.80%). Average income per capita reached VND2.1 million per person per month.

Vice Chairman of Kien Thiet Commune People's Committee Le The Hung, said that implementing the Project to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for poor households in the province in the 2021 - 2025 period, through review, the commune has 35 poor households in need of repairing and building new houses. Up to now, the commune has supported 12 new houses out of a total of 35 households.

To complete the Project's implementation targets, the Party Committee and commune authorities are continuing to promote propaganda and mobilize people to change their living habits, creating conditions for people to access support programs and projects; supporting plants, animals, and high-quality plant varieties; organizing technical training classes to help increase crop productivity; mobilizing people to actively work in production, etc.
