Delegation from TuyenQuang province visits Norway

TQO - A delegation from TuyenQuang province, led by Chau Van Lam, member of the Vietnamese Party Central Committee and Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and head of the provincial National Assembly delegation, visited Norway from November 24 to 26.

The delegation had a working session with the Hedmark County Council. The event was hosted by member of the Hedmark County Council Lasse Juliussen, and TorfinnKringlebotn, Governor of Innlandet County.

At the function, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Chau Van Lam briefed the guests on TuyenQuang province’s potential and advantage of socio-economic development. He expressed his hope to learn more about current policies of Hedmark County and Norway in general on developing the forestry economy, processing techniques, and product consumption in order to enhance cooperation between Hedmark County and TuyenQuangprovince in these fields.

For his part, member of Hedmark County Council Lasse Juliussen discussed issues related to the county’s policies on forestry economy development, and the authorities’ support to forest tree planting and caring.

Hedmark County has strong advantages in forest with its forest area accounting for 18% of Norwegian forests. The Norwegian Government and the authorities of Hedmark County have worked out a number of policies to develop and apply science and technology in forest development. Resultantly, 97% of workload related to forest planting to harvesting has been done mechanically.

During their stay, the delegation visited Vietnamese Embassy in Norway, during which the provincial Party Committee Secretary voiced his hope that the Ambassador will support TuyenQuang province in learning from experience in forestry economy development, aquaculture farming and processing, urban management, and waste and wastewater treatment while facilitating the province’s access to Norwegian Official Development Assistance (ODA) source.

On the occasion, the delegation visited Hurdal ecovillage and Tewo Company – a manufacturer of building materials who has just been granted a patent for manufacturing components to build eco-friendly wooden houses.
