Faced with this situation, the Provincial People's Committee issued Document on increasing communication about the harmful effects of e-cigarettes, heated cigarettes, and shisha; Directive document on the implementation of Decision approving the National Strategy on prevention and control of tobacco harms until 2030.
According to the authorities, the most difficult thing in managing and restricting e-cigarettes is that trading activities mainly take place in cyberspace, users form their own groups to exchange and buy and sell. Meanwhile, e-cigarettes are not yet within the scope of regulation of the Law on Prevention and Control of Tobacco Harms. The handling and control are mainly in the field of commodity trading.
Comrade Cao Trung Son, Deputy Head of the Drug Police Team, Provincial Police said that, to prevent new generation cigarettes from entering young people, there is no more effective solution than the synchronous coordination of agencies, authorities, families and schools. Only with the participation of many parties, will the prevention and handling of e-cigarettes and new-generation cigarettes be radical. The police force will also coordinate with relevant units to increase inspection, especially around schools to ensure a healthy environment for young people.
