A Tay village at the foot of Dan Han Mountain

TQO - Dan Han Mountain runs in the shape of a bow to the north of Yen Nguyen Commune, Chiem Hoa District. The Hoang family of the Tay ethnic group has lived at the foot of the mountain beside the Ca stream for long time. The name of this village through changes may be different, but the history of the 1000-year-old Bao Ninh Sung Phuc Temple during the Ly Dynasty has still been there.

A new village - Bao Ninh Village

Recently, Yen Nguyen Commune has merged two villages of Lang Tac and Lang Go into Bao Ninh Hamlet. The hamlet has 168 households with 745 people. In which, the Hoang family of the Tay ethnic group accounts for 95% of the village's population.

The customs of local people have been preserved for many generations such as costumes, voices and culture. Every year, Con (cloth ball) throwing festival is opened in the village during Tet holiday. A wide variety of folk games including traditional wrestling, blind man's buff, pot beating and human chess are also held in the locality. Today, local people have still kept the habit of eating pickled mustard greens, banana flower, rau don (a kind of wild vegetable), etc. The village has established a Then singing club with more than 30 members.

Bao Ninh is a rural village, but the people's living standard is quite stable, with an income of VND40 million per person per year. At the end of 2020, the village formed a clean vegetable growing club with 37 members and the initial vegetable growing area was 4.7 ha. Farmers grow clean vegetables under the safety standards. Currently, Minh Tan Poultry Breeding Cooperative in Tu Thinh Commune, Son Duong District and An Hoa Agricultural Service Cooperative (Tam Duong - Vinh Phuc) have also signed a contract on vegetable cultivation and consumption, making the locals feel even more secure.

Every year, thousands of local people and tourists flocked to the pagoda to join local annual spring festivals.

In the coming time, Chiem Hoa District will coordinate with Yen Nguyen Commune  to expand the pagoda's campus in order to develop Bao Ninh Sung Phuc Pagoda to become a famous tourist destination of Chiem Hoa District. Along with the restoration of the pagoda, the district will encourage local people to promote the community-based tourism via Tay's culture identities and homestay models.
