Before 2020, the poverty ratio of Tan Thinh Commune accounted for 23%, but now it has decreased to 4.06%. The commune's income per capita in 2018 reached VND18 million per person per year whereas it has increased to VND39 million per person per year in 2020.
The commune has about 2,500 people of working age. In which, there are 1,200 labourers working in industrial zones both inside and outside Tuyen Quang Province. The commune has 5 general farms and about 20 economic models for high income such as breeding fattening buffaloes, raising chickens for eggs, and growing gac trees, etc.
Recently, the commune has piloted some models of cultivating sweet corn and biomass maize. This is also a new direction to take advantage of the land conditions in Tan Thinh Commune to help people improve their income.
The commune has also set a goal of completing 500 meters of concrete rural roads and building two bridges in two hamlets of An Phu and Phuc An this year. To date, 10 village gates of 10 out of 10 hamlets in the commune was constructed with a total worth of hundreds of millions of Vietnamese dong.
