The leaders of Ho Toan Joint Stock Company and the Economic Security Department of the Provincial Police presented funds to support the family of Ms. Doan Thi Tham, village 11, Lang Quan commune to build new houses.
Lang Quan commune currently has 1,517 households, 6,339 people, with 11 ethnic groups living together, of which ethnic minorities account for nearly 75%. The commune has 14 villages, the number of poor households is currently 110, accounting for over 7%, and near-poor households are 71, accounting for over 4%. According to the report on the results of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in 2024, the number of houses in need of support in Lang Quan commune is 66, of which 52 are newly built and 14 are repaired. In 2024, the average income per capita of the commune will reach over 47 million VND/person/year; 14/14 villages will achieve the title of cultural village; over 90% of households in the commune will achieve the title of cultural family.
Comrade Nguyen Manh Hoa, Party Secretary, Head of the Steering Committee for Eliminating Temporary and Dilapidated Houses in Lang Quan commune, said: "Determining the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses is one of the key political tasks in poverty reduction and new rural construction, so we have mobilized the entire political system to participate and resolutely implement this goal". “To date, the total number of completed houses reported as of February 15, 2025 is 65, of which 52 have been newly built, 13 have been repaired, and the remaining house has started construction during the reporting period.”, he said.
To effectively implement the content of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses, the commune has organized a review and accurate statistics of the number of poor households, households with temporary and dilapidated houses, and classified the subjects to have appropriate support plans. At the same time, promote propaganda and mobilization work, raise people's awareness of the meaning and importance of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses for the sustainable socio-economic development of the locality.
Along with that, the commune has mobilized maximum resources, integrating the state budget and socio-economic development programs, socialized resources, support from philanthropists, businesses, organizations, individuals and contributions from the community in supporting funding, construction materials, and labor days in the implementation of removing temporary and dilapidated houses.
