Protecting personal data in cyberspace

TQO - The 2023 Vietnam Cyber ​​Security Summary Report by the Vietnam National Cyber ​​Security Technology Company (NCS) recorded 13,900 cyber attacks on organizations, an average of 1,160 cases per month.

Decree No. 13/2023/ND-CP of the Government on personal data protection officially took effect from July 1, 2023, aiming to effectively protect personal data in Vietnam, minimizing the risks and consequences of personal data infringements.

This Decree stipulates that people have more rights in managing personal data in Vietnam such as the right to know, to be provided with information about activities related to data processing, the right to complain and the right to request compensation for damages.

According to experts, to ensure safety in the network environment, the "individual user" link is extremely important. Users need to be aware of the risks and dangers they may encounter and use all digital services carefully, limit the provision of personal information freely; absolutely do not click on strange links, strange applications, suspicious that can steal login information; only use strong enough passwords, not easy to guess for important services such as banking, social insurance.

Along with measures to enhance customer information security of agencies and businesses, each person needs to have the right awareness and high consciousness in protecting their own personal data.
