Taking advantage of this demand for tourism services, scammers have created fake fanpages, copied and posted information about resort services from official fanpages to scam customers.
Scammers create fake fanpages and then use tricks to get blue ticks from facebook, run ads on fake fanpages, and buy fake comments to gain trust from tourists. These fake pages offer booking packages at attractive prices and lower than the real price to attract customers, so many people fall into the trap. This behavior not only causes serious damage to the reputation and image of the resort but also causes heavy damage and loss of trust of customers.
The Department of Information Security (Ministry of Information and Communications) recommends that people need to be vigilant and cautious against fake fanpages of hotels and tourist accommodations. Check and verify information carefully about the location, facilities of the accommodation as well as the background of the provider. Customers absolutely must not transfer a deposit without verifying the reputation of the subject. People are advised to carefully check the origin of the account and the authenticity of the subject before receiving any information. In case of becoming a victim of a scammer, people need to immediately report to the police for timely support and resolution.
