When Thuy was a child, she dreamed of becoming a doctor to cure her father, who was suffering from a serious illness. However, her dream turned sour when her father passed away and she had to drop out of school.
After years of farm work, she made the bold decision to use bank loans to open a store of agricultural equipment and construction materials in Tuyen Quang Province.
Bui Thi Thuy was honourably presented with “Sao Do” Award in 2019.
Despite facing many difficulties in the first days of her start-up, Thuy remained determined to learn to build her business. She established Sao Viet Tuyen Quang Company Limited in 2005.
She has coordinated with many households in Tuyen Quang and neighbouring provinces such as Ha Giang, Yen Bai, Bac Giang, Phu Tho and Thai Nguyen. Meanwhile, she has also worked with scientists and provided technical and financial support for local people in developing cultivation and husbandry models as well as ensuring the output of their products.
Starting from a factory constructed in Ao Xanh Hamlet, Duc Ninh Commune, Ham Yen District, the company has now expanded to include 15 facilities and 23 stores, trading venues and purchasing and processing points. The company has created jobs for hundreds of workers.
The company has been equipped with a modern production line and transportation network to meet the demand of the market and partners. On average, the company’s annual turnover exceeded VND400 billion, contributing VND15 billion to VND20 billion to the State budget.
