Tuyen Quang: Continuously improving the lives of ethnic minorities

TQO - Recently, Tuyen Quang province has continuously improving the lives of ethnic minorities.

1. General overview

- 121 out of 137 commune-level administrative units are in ethnic minority and mountainous areas.

- Over 474,000 ethnic minorities, accounting for 54.1% of the total population of the province.

2. Outstanding results

- Regarding the construction of the political system:

+ 26,520 party members are ethnic minorities, accounting for 45.16% of party members in the entire provincial Party Committee (an increase of 1.52% compared to 2019).

+ The proportion of ethnic minority cadres participating in Party committees and People's Councils at all levels:

Provincial level 20 out of 48 comrades (41.6%)

District Party Committees and equivalent 125 out of 321 comrades (38.94%)

Grassroots Party Committees 1,527 out of 3,471 comrades (43.99%).

- Economy:

+ 100% of communes have asphalted or concreted roads to the center.

+ 100% of villages and hamlets have roads to the center.

+ Average income per capita increased by VND16.42 million per person per year compared to 2019.

+ 99.9% of ethnic minority households use the national grid.

+ 90.8% of villages, hamlets, and residential groups can use fiber optic Internet; 95.5% of villages, hamlets, and residential groups have mobile coverage.

+ Support 57 industrial promotion projects in ethnic minority and mountainous areas, with a total budget of over VND13.5 billion.

+ Build 6 Vietnamese sales points, with a total support budget of VND394 million.

+ Outstanding loans to ethnic minorities are over VND2,807 billion per 62,095 borrowing households, an increase of VND97,102 million (3.5%) compared to 2019.

- Culture - society:

+ The poverty rate of ethnic minorities has decreased by over 4% per year.

+ 7 out of 7 districts and cities have met the standards for universal secondary education level 2.

+ 94.9% of communes have health stations that meet national health criteria.

+ The total number of ethnic minority workers is 281,000 people. Of which, 51.6% of ethnic minorities have been trained out of total workers.
