The successor of the medicinal planting of the La family

TQO - The life of the Red Dao people in Binh An Commune (Lam Binh) base on mountains and forests, so they are knowledgeable about medicinal plants in the forest. The La family in the commune have been doing medicine for many generations with a generous heart.

La Van Dung and members of Tan Hoa Oriental Medicine Cooperative, Binh An commune (Lam Binh) check the source of clean medicinal herbs.

La Tai Van did not know how long the custom of worshiping the medicinal god of the Red Dao people have been existed, only knowing that his profession was passed on by her biological parents. He said, before taking medicine, the doctor must worship the medicine god, so that the new remedy will be effective. What is special is different from other families, precious medicines are not only passed on to family members but also have to be passed on to patients after they have recovered from the disease.

This custom takes place after the sick person is treated and brings the ceremony to thank the herb-doctor. After making offerings to the herb god, the doctor will pass on the precious medicine to the patient carefully and enthusiastically. Small rituals are held in front of the altar to show their sincerity and sacredness.

For a long time, local people have understood that exploiting herb must be combination with protecting the growth of medicinal plants. The concern of developing a clean source of medicinal herbs made a young man La Van Dung, Director of Tan Hoa Oriental Medicine Cooperative, Binh An Commune (Lam Binh) learn and research through books, social networks. Refer to some models of the Dao people in Lao Cai, Son La, he started to develop the model of growing medicinal herbs under the forest canopy.

In early 2021, Tan Hoa Oriental Medicine Cooperative, Binh An commune was born. The cooperative has 13 members, led by La Van Dung as the director. After a period of implementation, the cooperative has now grown more than 20 hectares of natural medicinal herbs.
