Teaching english to students in remote areas

TQO - 10 years of working with highland students in Chiem Hoa, Nguyen Thi Lua, an english teacher in Tri Phu Primary School (Chiem Hoa) has devoted all her heart to teaching the children "the third language".

Graduating from Hanoi University of Foreign Languages, in 2013, Lua left Tuyen Quang City to Chiem Hoa District to work as a contract teacher. At that time, each year she was assigned to teach at a different school. Overcoming the difficulties of changing teaching environment and geographical distance, she still went to class every day. In 2020, she was assigned to teach at Tri Phu Primary School.

She shared that children in remote and isolated areas do not have the same conditions to to familiarize themselves with English. Their parents also cannot support their children when studying at home, it all depends on the subject teachers.

To overcome these difficulties, she actively participated in the training programs of the english to get more experiences. In the lectures, she used many visual methods to make the lesson more lively.

In particular, she established the English Club, integrating the club's activities with the school's general activities. According to Lua, this will be the best environment for them to practice English.

With passion to her profession she is a connector to bring English closer to students in remote areas.
