No pens, no books, each classroom just have two people – a doctor, a patient. That is image of special class at the Department of Physiotherapy, Activity Therapy, Language Therapy, Psychotherapy in Huong Sen Rehabilitation Hospital. Everyday, the hospital's officials and staff work diligently to help disabled children. Each course of treatment for autistic children takes at least 6 months, even some children take several years.
Au Thi Tuyen, Head of Department of Physiotherapy, Activity Therapy, Language Therapy, Psychotherapy of Huong Sen Rehabilitation Hospital shared that the children came to the department have different ages and the disease, intelligence, cognition, and psychophysiology are not the same, so the department has arranged for each child to have a special education officer. Although it was hard, everyone loved and persistently encouraged the children to practice and treat.
For the staff at the hospital, the patients treated here are not only patients but they are also like their own spiritual children. Besides treating the patients, the doctors are also like a "teacher", like a "mother", taking care of their health, meal and sleep.
There are many children in difficult circumstances, the hospital's staff has called on benefactors to help them get treatment and integrate into the community.
“Each child has its own pathology and disability, depending on the case, there is a direction for support and recovery. For us, helping children have a brighter future is the greatest joy”, Tran Thi Kim Thoa, Deputy Director of Rehabilitation Hospital Huong Sen confided.
