Students of Hoang Khai Secondary School (Yen Son) participate in exchanging plastic waste for green trees.
To carry out the movement effectively, the communication and education on the risk of plastic pollution and dangers from plastic bags have been comprehensively implemented. Many activities have organized in a variety of forms suitable for each grade such as painting contests for environment protection, theatricalization, etc. Right from the beginning of the new school year, the movements of “exchange plastic waste for school supplies”, “exchange plastic waste for green trees”, or “recycle plastic waste” have been maintained in schools.
At phu Thinh Primary School and Phu Thinh Secondary School (Phu Thinh Commune, Yen Son District), in response to the campaign "Make the world cleaner in 2022”, leaders of schools have directed teachers and students to collect, classify and treat garbage as well as clean the school’s campus and village streets.
The model “Small plan house” is one of practical models in the movement "School youth join hands to prevent plastic waste”. To date, Tuyen Quang Province has nearly 350 models operating effectively. Thanks to the fund from collecting plastic waste, school have organized many meaningful activities for students.
The creation of useful items, decorations and toys in the class from the discarded plastic products has become a pervasive movement in many schools. Thereby, it contributes to saving money on buying learning equipment and developing the children’s creative thinking.
