Overcoming difficulties to protect forests in Phia Phoong

TQO - Phia Phoong Forest Protection Station, Khau Tinh Commune (Na Hang) currently manages over 3,800 hectares of special-use forests in Khau Tinh and Son Phu communes of Na Hang District.

As a forest protection post located in the middle of Tuyen Quang Hydroelectric Reservoir, with a staff of 9 members, the lives of them face many difficulties, most of whom have to travel by boat to carry out their daily needs and work tasks.

Comrade Duong Van Cuong, Head of Phia Phoong Forest Protection Station, shared that the station has also divided into 3 more forest protection posts in villages of Khau Tinh Commune to facilitate monitoring and protecting the forest. The posts are located high up, the roads are extremely difficult, but they are determined to stay and protect the peaceful green of the forests.

Phia Phoong Forest Protection Station, Khau Tinh Commune (Na Hang) is located in the middle of Tuyen Quang Hydroelectric Reservoir.

To ensure food, they proactively grow vegetables and raise fish right at the station.

The water spinach garden is right behind the Phia Phoong Forest Ranger Station.

They maintain cooking with a wood stove to save energy in case of wind or weather changes.

The regular meal has fish available in the lake, because it takes 2 hours by boat to go to the market to buy other food.

Although it is hard, everyone is enthusiastic about the job.

Every time they carry out a task, they have to travel by boat.

Mr. Duong Manh Cuong shared that in addition to the task of protecting the forest, everyone is proficient in boat driving and repairing when there is damage.

The task of patrolling and controlling the forest is always assigned officers to monitor regularly.

The route to carry out the patrol task is extremely difficult.

Due to the large and dangerous management area, a map is indispensable when going to the forest.

Each officer at the station has a separate locker, and always has their belongings ready to go on the mission.

Although it is hard, everyone is determined to protect the green color of the forest.
