According to the Department of Rural Development, in the period from 2021 to 2023, the whole province has relocated 307 households to new places. In 2024, according to the report reviewing the needs of districts and cities, the total number of households needing to relocate is 150 households. Currently, households are completing the necessary procedures to move to new places.
However, due to complicated weather developments, the risk of flash floods, landslides is increasing, the number of households in landslide risk areas is increasing. Many households in dangerous natural disaster areas often arise after each natural disaster, leading to untimely relocation to new places.
In reality, resettlement to move people out of dangerous areas as well as to overcome the consequences of natural disasters mainly depends on state budget resources. Although the Government and localities have paid great attention to arranging funding, it is still very low compared to the requirements. Among the many concerns that local authorities have expressed, the most worrying issue is still the lack of funding for implementation.
In order to implement the construction of facilities to move people out of dangerous areas, in addition to integrating programs and capital sources, Tuyen Quang province has also developed and issued policies to support the implementation of stable resettlement of residents in disaster areas in the area for the period 2023-2030. But in reality, it is still not enough, as many households still live in insecurity every time the rainy and stormy season comes. Therefore, in addition to the central and provincial capital for this work, local authorities also need to do a good job of mobilizing resources from socialization and other legal sources to support households living in areas at risk of landslides to move to new places, ensuring safety for people, especially now that natural disasters are becoming more and more unusual.
