The head of Ban Giang Hamlet Then Van Hien shared that in the past, people in the hamlet cut down trees for wood. As a result, the forest was destroyed while the land was also eroded. At that time, he and forest rangers actively communicated and mobilised people to save forests.

"After realising the great value of the forest, the people signed a commitment to protect the forest. Accordingly, households jointly supervised each other in forest preservation and forest resource protection", Then Van Luong, a resident of Giang Bao Hamlet said.
Even harvesting bamboo shoots in the forest has specific regulations. From June to August, people will be able to collect bamboo shoots, but from September onwards, they will not be allowed to go into the forest to get bamboo shoots so that they can grow into trees.
In addition to forest preservation, the hamlet has also promoted economic development from planting production forests. With the method of "taking short to raise long", local people have intercropped corn and cassava while waiting for acacia to grow. At the same time, they have expanded the model of raising pigs and chickens. Profits from the general economic model reached over VND100 million per year.
Thanks to the forest, the people of Ban Giang Hamlet have developed their economy and improved their quality of life.
