Keeping the countryside’s soul in the city

TQO - Over the past years, Tran Van Thanh in Group 9, Tan Ha Ward, Tuyen Quang City has persistently created unique bamboo and rattan products to introduce to consumers and tourists.

Right from the moment Thanh started to knit, he showed the difference with his quick learning skills. He only had to look once to know how to imitate the exact same way of knitting. Besides, he is also a craftsman who is able to create many new knitting.

He shared: “I knit from the smallest items in the house: the fan, the tray, the hat… to the baskets for the tea-picking work of women, or the sets of tables. There are many products that take me nearly half a month to complete".

He is always ready to enthusiastically instruct those who are passionate about rattan, bamboo, etc. In 2007, he was invited to teach in bamboo and rattan training classes by the Provincial Farmers' Association and the Centre for Vocational Education and Training.

In addition to products for daily life, he also creates unique products to serve tourists. At the contests to design tourism products and souvenirs of the province organised by the Provincial Investment Promotion Centre in 2017 and 2018, he won the second prize. His products are appreciated for their high aesthetics, durability and fancy, attracting many visitors.
