The wedding of the Nung people is usually held over two days. According to their custom, the groom's family must choose an “ong don” (a matchmaker) and the bride's family must also choose an “ong dua” (also a matchmaker). The matchmakers are people with a happy family with sons and daughters.

When arriving at the bride's house, the leader of the groom's family often sings the Sli song to signal for the bride's family. The bride's family appoints a representative person to assess the wedding offering as required then invites them into their home.
After receiving the offering, the bride's family hold a ceremony to “report” to their ancestors. The shaman at the bride's family writes the names of the bride and groom on an amulet and then wraps it with a pink paper band. He then prays to the ancestors to bless the happy young couple.
The Nung’s wedding ceremony is very distinctive thanks to the performance of the Sli song by the bridesmaids and groomsmen. They sing songs about daily life, love, and the happiness of the bride and groom.
Nowadays, several the rituals in the Nung’s wedding custom have been reduced but it continues to retain the traditional beauty of the Nung ethnic group.
