The turtle dance of the Dao Quan Chet people.

This is an occasion for them to pray to Ban Vuong God for a happy life, good weather and bumper crops for their ancestors, families, relatives, and people in village.

Turtle dancing during the Dancing Holiday originated from the legend of an ogre turtle which used to disturb the village and crops... In order to save their village, healthy men in the community joined forces to chase the turtle away. Over the years, turtle chasing has been transformed into the turtle dance.

Turtle dancing has also shown the beautiful, rich and harmonious customs of the ethnic community. Therefore, it has a sustainable vitality in the cultural life of the Dao Quan Chet people.
