Experiencing lunar New Year at Thang Long Imperial Citadel

The Centre for the Preservation of Thang Long - Hanoi Heritage is coordinating with relevant organizations to organize an exhibition and traditional cultural activities to welcome the lunar New Year at Thang Long Imperial Citadel from January 22nd to 24th.

Diverse activities are taking place at the event such as a photo exhibition on lunar New Year in the late 19th century and early 20th century thanks to wood-engravings by Henri Orger and documentary photos of Albert Kahn Museum (France); and an exhibition on folk paintings to help visitors and children study fine traditional customs.

In addition, the Centre will introduce documents on tests at the citadel, Le Dynasty royal customs, newly-discovered archaeological relics at the citadel; reinstate incense offering at Kinh Thien palace and research results on Kinh Thien palace over the past years, thus continuing to study the restoration of the palace area in the future. 

Especially, on this occasion of lunar New Year, an incense offering by the State President and his spouse together with Overseas Vietnamese at Kinh Thien palace will be held as an activity in the Homeland Spring Program 2018./.
