During a working session in Hanoi on January 25, the two sides agreed to continue to enhance coordination within their joint cooperation groups, thus devising support and cooperative policies to bolster links in IT and telecommunications.
They will also promote connections in training and raise public awareness of information security, especially methods to ensure information infrastructure, and measures to tackle cyber attacks.
The Vietnamese side wished to foster collaboration with Japan in building smart cities, and called for Japan’s support in studying smart urban standards and in building smart urban criteria.
Regarding the radio frequency field, the two countries will study measures to install high-frequency radio control systems in Vietnam. They also agreed to collaborate in training human resources in the work.
The Japanese side suggested the ministry create favourable conditions for Japanese enterprises to support relevant projects in Vietnam.
Japan is Vietnam’s leading strategic partner in terms of IT and telecommunications.
The country is also one of the leading countries in Asia in applying technologies in building smart cities.
Since 2015, the two countries have cooperated in information security. They have regularly shared reports related to national information security as reliable data for building programmes to ensure national and regional cyber security.
