According to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, there are currently over 30,000 bee colonies in the province, with the most being Tuyen Quang city with over 15,000, Yen Son over 10,000, and Son Duong 8,000.

In the Agricultural Sector Restructuring Project of the Provincial People's Committee, beekeeping has been identified as a potential breeding industry with high economic efficiency.

The province has implemented the planning of breeding areas focusing on developing bee colonies and beekeeping in some other areas in the districts of Son Duong, Yen Son, Ham Yen, Chiem Hoa, Tuyen Quang city, etc.
