The Shan Tuyet Na Hang tea growing and processing area of Son Tra Cooperative has become a destination for tourists to experience. Shan Tuyet tea tree is a native variety in Hong Thai Commune in particular and some neighboring communes in Na Hang District in general. The specialty tea called Shan Tuyet tea is harvested from hundred-year-old trees, attracting a lot of visitors to experience. Coming to Hong Hai Commune, tourists can visit Shan Tuyet tea hill, harvest and dry tea buds and by themselves according to instruction of local people, creating their own products as souvenirs.

With the advantage of the large fruit-growing region such as king orange, dragon fruit, green tea, etc. along with the unique traditional culture identities of ethnic minorities, Ham Yen District has proactively implemented the development of various types of community-based tourism in combination with agricultural models. Sharing about the idea of agriculture combined with tourism development, Do Van Hung in Hamlet 1 Minh Phu, Yen Phu Commune (Ham Yen) said that: His family planted 7 hectares of dragon fruit with 7,000 pillars. In the flower season, the whole hill is full of white flowers. When the fruit is ripe, the garden is very beautiful with red color. In order to attract tourists, he constructed a log hut to watch the dragon fruit garden from above as well as connected thousands of electric lights to the tree pillars to meet need of the night view vision of holidaymakers. This helped his family have two parallel sources of income from agriculture and tourism. In addition, thanks to tourists, his family’s dragon fruit products have been consumed widely both inside and outside the province.

Ham Yen king orange is well known as a specialty product in Ham Yen District. In the harvest season, many groups of tourists traveled to Tuyen Quang to visit and take photos amidst the orange orchards with bright yellow fruits. In particular, they enjoyed the ripe orange right in the garden. King orange is considered as ‘golden fruit’ because it has a great impact on Tuyen Quang tourism and agriculture.

To sum up, the association between OCOP products and tourism contributes to the development of agriculture and tourism in Tuyen Quang.
