Local people in Kim Binh Commune (Chiem Hoa) take care of their chickens.
Established in 2018, Thanh Dat Agriculture, Forestry and Service Cooperative, Kim Binh Commune (Chiem Hoa) with 7 members operates mainly in the field of poultry farming and animal feed.
Realizing that Kim Binh has a chicken breed with characteristics of chewy meat, yellow skin, and delicious taste, the Board of Directors of Thanh Dat Cooperative decided to invest in the field of chicken raising in the direction of natural grazing with the feed of grass and herbs.
According to Director of Thanh Dat Cooperative La Quy Canh, currently, there are 7 member households who are associated with raising chickens with the number of over 30,000 chickens per brood. In 2021, although the Covid-19 epidemic affects general business activities, the but production of cooperatives was still guaranteed due to signing a product consumption contract with Lac Thuy High-Quality Chicken Cooperative to put chicken products into 2 supermarket chains of Lotte and Vinmart.
In the coming time, the cooperative will expand its scale, admit more members to raise chickens to bring the total number of chickens up to 50,000 chickens per brood according to VietGap standards and aim to process chicken products for sale in order to increase the value and build the 'Chiem Hoa chicken' brand.
Head of the Agriculture and Rural Development Division of Chiem Hoa District Do Van Hieu shared that the district is currently completing the procedures and documents to recognized 'Chiem Hoa chicken' product with 3-star standards by the provincial OCOP product appraisal council.
