Lam Binh District is famous for many unique festivals and customs such as the Long Tong (Going to the field) Festival of the Tay people, the Fire Dancing Festival of the Pa Then ethnic group, and the “Cap Sac” ritual (a rite of passage declaring the coming-of-age of Dao men within the community).
People in Lam Binh District preserve and pass on the technique of drawing beeswax on brocade to their descendants.
In addition, the district has developed typical tourism products, including the model of community-based tourism (homestay) associated with traditional craft villages as well as cultural and artistic activities to attract visitors to the communes of Lang Can, Khuon Ha, and Thuong Lam.
The highlight in Lam Binh District’s tourism development is the enhancement of community-based tourism in combine with preserving and upholding the values of rich cultural identities. To date, the district has developed 26 homestay facilities, luring more than 15,000 guest per year.
Lam Binh District is now focusing on improving the quality of human resources towards boosting tourism development. In addition, training courses have been opened for officials, civil servants and labour managers of tourist accommodation service businesses in the locality.
