The socialisation of the festival is very high, typically villages, hamlets, and residential groups meet, agree to contribute money, and plan to create models.
The province does not impose on villages, hamlets, and residential groups to make models of Mid-Autumn lights; residential areas register with the organisers depending on their ability. The choice to make a model of a dragon, tiger, or chicken is also decided on by the people. In order for the festival to increase creativity and encourage residential areas, the province organised a contest to award the beautiful Mid-Autumn lantern models.
Thanh Tuyen Festival has been recognized by the Guinness Book of Records as "The festival night with many unique and largest models of Mid-Autumn Festival lights in Vietnam", and "The largest Mid-Autumn Festival tray in Vietnam". In 2021, the 17th Provincial Party Committee issued Resolution No. 29 on developing tourism into an important economic sector of the province. By 2025, Thanh Tuyen Festival will be developed as a unique and special national tourism product.
