Nguyen Xuan Lieu and his wife in group 11, Tan Ha ward (Tuyen Quang city) make traditional star lanterns.

Lieu shared that this is also a traditional toy that is favored by many customers and ordered in large quantities, not only in districts and cities in the province but also by customers in Ha Giang and Phu Tho provinces.

In order to have goods in time for the Mid-Autumn Festival, his family must search and select ingredients from the third lunar month every year. The main materials to create star lanterns are bamboo and decorative paper. The ingredients come from nature so they are very environmentally friendly and do not affect children's health.

Each year, Lieu's family usually makes 3,000 - 4,000 star lanterns. Each of lantern costs from VND30,000 to VND50,000.

For Lieu, persevering this traditional craft is not only for the business purpose, but it is also a way for him and his wife to show their love for children, as well as their dedication to traditional values.
