VNeID is an application developed by the National Population Data Center (under C06 of the Ministry of Public Security) based on a database of identification, population as well as electronic authentication.

The Ministry of Public Security has deployed 12 utilities on VneID with more than 1.5 million visits and daily use of the utilities.

On this application, Hanoi is a pilot locality implementing the issuance of criminal record cards for people to operate by phone, without needing to go to the headquarters of public agencies.

In the future, VNeID software will continue to be expanded with more utilities such as integrating citizens' residence information into electronic identification accounts to replace paper household registration books, social security payments, etc.

The implementation of online public services is increasingly effective, cutting down and simplifying many administrative procedures, helping to save time and costs for people, businesses and administrative units.
