Housing support for the poor

TQO - Following the success of the first year of project 308 implementation, in 2023, localities in Tuyen Quang province will strive to remove 1,133 temporary and dilapidated houses for poor households.

Officials and people in Quang Tan village, Yen Lam commune (Ham Yen) support poor households to build new houses.

Out of over 26,700 poor households with housing difficulties, the majority of poor and near-poor households are ethnic minorities.

According to the Provincial Committee for Ethnic Minority Affairs, the review results for the period 2021-2025, there were 2,096 ethnic minority households registered to renew and repair houses. In which, in 2022, there was 597 households, while in 2023, there will be 775 households.

Along with that, the Provincial People's Council issued Resolution No. 02 stipulating the level of housing support and village information activities to implement the Poverty Reduction Program for the 2021-2025 period. In which, from the local budget, the province will support VND10 million per household for new house construction and VND5 million per household for repair.

According to the Department of Construction, as soon as the project is approved by the Provincial People's Committee, in 2023, it is expected that localities will support 425 households, of which 192 new households will be built and 233 houses will be repaired.

The cooperation of all levels of Party committees and local authorities is helping Project 308 to soon complete the set goals and become one of the earliest projects in the 2021-2025 period.
