Ensuring clean water supply for ethnic minorities

TQO - Clean water is an indispensable need in the daily life of each person and is an important factor in protecting health and improving living conditions for people, especially ethnic minorities in remote areas.

People in village 6 Minh Tien, Minh Huong commune (Ham Yen) have access to clean, hygienic water.

Tuyen Quang province has a total of 383 concentrated water supply works. Water exploitation works operate sustainably, with an extraction capacity of tens of thousands of cubic meters of water per day per night, meeting the need of over 95% of rural households and ethnic minorities.

To improving the quality of daily-life water sources in the period of 2021 - 2025, the province continues to support the construction of distributed water works for 10,360 beneficiaries; build 20 concentrated domestic water works for residential clusters, agencies and schools in communes with large ethnic minority areas, etc.

According to Ma Quang Hieu, Head of the Provincial Committee for Ethnic Minorities, the water works not only provide clean water for daily life, but also improve the quality of life and protect the health of ethnic minorities in remote communes.
