Dong Cuom village possesses 640 hectares of planted forest. Many well-off households have an income of over VND200 million per year thanks to the afforestation. Taking advantage of available raw materials, families have established plywood factories, creating jobs for local workers.
The village currently has about 20 effective economic models with an income of over VND150 million per model per year.
Dong Cuom is a disadvantaged village of Trung Son commune with 9 ethnic groups living together, including Dao, Mong, Nung, Tay, Pa Then, La Chi, Muong, Thai and Kinh. Each ethnic group has a distinct culture, but the spirit of solidarity and attachment creates the common culture of the village.
For many years, Dong Cuom village has always achieved the title of cultural village, and 90% of the families have achieved the cultural family status. The percentage of poor households accounts for more than 30%.
