‘Qua con’ hanging above the window frame.
‘Qua con’ is made from a square colourful fabric piece with each side about 20cm, covering a handful of rice and cotton seeds. The string of 'qua con' is about 50 cm length, made of durable fabric. In the Tay people's belief, the more tassels with different colours the cloth ball has, the more luck, happiness and prosperity it brings to the owner.
In many Tay villages, local people organise a con throwing festival to pray for good luck on the occasion of Tet.
Currently, the homestay tourism model is developing in Tuyen Quang, many homestay owners have hung cloth balls in important positions for attraction. Therefore, many visitors to the homestay are very impressed by these balls.
