The Mid-autumn festival celebration in Tuyen Quang is widely known among domestic and foreign visitors thanks for the parade of giant lanterns
These days, Dai Phu commune’s cultural house in Son Duong district is full of love duet melodies sung by members of Cao Lan ethnic group’s art troupe, who come there to practice their singing and dancing. The troupe will bring to the Tuyen Quang Cultural Days in Hanoi three performances, including a show of Cao Lan people’s traditional costumes, a sword dance, and a ‘khai den’ folk dance.
The programme in Hanoi will also feature a parade of two giant Mid-autumn lanterns made by Tuyen Quang residents. The two unique lanterns, selected by the Tuyen Quang city People’s Committee, are named ‘Truyen Thuyet Thanh Giong’ (The Legend of Saint Giong) and ‘Rong Vang’ (Golden Dragon). ‘The Legend of Saint Giong’ lantern was made to educate the country’s fighting tradition against foreign invaders to younger generations.
All preparations for the Tuyen Quang Cultural Days in Hanoi are basically completed, and everything is ready to go.
