Tuyen Quang develops OCOP products

TQO - Two years since its launch, the One Commune One Product (OCOP) Programme for the 2018-2020 period has achieved initially encouraging results, creating a wide spread snow-ball effect, thus gradually affirming the prestigious brand of Tuyen Quang’s agricultural products.

Most of the communes in the province have identified advantageous agricultural products for investment and development, with 7 out of all 6 districts and 1 city in Tuyen Quang having at least 1 key product. The province has also identified 9 key products, including orange, tea, sugarcane, pomelo, peanut, plantation grown timber, buffalo, pig and fish.

47 products with registered trademarks have affirmed their prestige and market share in both the domestic and international markets, such as the green and black tea products of My Lam Tea Joint Stock Company and specialty fish in Na Hang lake.

Currently, the province has about 179 agricultural products that can be developed into OCOP products. Local authorities have supported farmers with VND40.6 billion to standardise 74 agricultural products.

The OCOP support programme features the development and certification of safe production under verified standards, trade promotion, searching for markets, supporting trademark registration, and upgrading production and processing equipment.
