Tuyen Quang Province’s climate is suitable for growing a wide variety of vegetables. The northern locality currently has around 8,000 hectares of winter crops, an increase of more than 1,000 hectares compared to 2019, mostly concentrated in the districts of Son Duong, Yen Son and Ham Yen.
Common vegetables grown there are kohlrabi, cabbage, cauliflower, bitter gourd, cucumber, spring onion, coriander, and celery.
Tuyen Quang’s winter vegetable output has reached 96,000 tonnes. The economic value of vegetable farming, especially winter varieties, is now taking the lead amongst the province’s annual crops.
In order to improve the quality and value of winter vegetable products, the province has supported farmers in several major specialized vegetable areas to implement the VietGAP and organic vegetable production process.
