In the period of 2016-2020, the district has attracted 12 industrial projects, with registered capital of VND1.058 trillion (US$46.12 million), into the Son Nam Industrial Park and Phuc Ung Industrial Cluster in Son Duong Township. The locality’s industrial production value reached VND6.318 trillion (US$275.48 million) by 2020.
Agricultural production in Son Duong has focused on specialised farming and commodity production. In addition to the major crops, the district has formed some new specialised farming areas for crops such as peanuts, lemons, solanum procumbens and pueraria mirificas.

Son Duong has 16 agricultural products meeting VietGAP standards for clean and organic agriculture, including Tan Trao specialty rice, Ngan Son tea, Vinh Tan tea, pueraria mirificas powder, Tien Phat turmeric starch, and hydroponic vegetables.
Animal husbandry in the district has gradually been implemented following safety models in association with raw material areas, production linkages under the value chains and traceability. The locality has planted 2,000 hectares of new forests, with forest coverage reaching over 52%. Over 4,374 hectares of Son Duong’s forests have been certified as meeting FSC standards.
The district’s total retail sales of goods and social service revenue have hit VND4.2 trillion (US$183.17 million), exceeding the set target by 88%. The development of the industry, small-scale handicraft industry and service trading has contributed to generating VND180 billion in state budget revenue for Son Duong in 2020.
