Yen Phu dragon fruit is mainly grown in the hamlets of 1 Minh Phu, 3 Minh Phu, 2 Thong Nhat, 5 Thong Nhat and Km 61. The fruit is harvested in the fifth month of the lunar calendar.

The commune has more than 50 hectares of dragon fruit with an average yield of 15 tonnes per hectare per year. Local people can earn between VND200 million - VND300 million from each hectare of dragon fruit.
Yen Phu Commune is considered as the “capital” of red flesh dragon fruit. In 2019, the output of dragon fruit in the commune reached over 700 tonnes. This year, the output is estimated at top 750 tonnes, the total value of dragon fruit produced standing at about VND15 billion each year.
Dragon fruit has contributed to raising local people’s incomes and improving their lives. In the coming times, the communal People's Committee will coordinate with functional agencies and departments to organise training courses to update farmers on techniques related to dragon fruit planting and care in line with the VietGAP standards.
Currently, the average income of people in the commune is more than VND36 million per person per year. The commune is striving to lift this income to VND38 million per person per year by the end of 2020.
