He has raised more than 100 hives of honeybees in his family's garden. The garden is near Tan Trao special-use forest. Every day, each swarm of bees diligently fly to get natural forest pollen. The seasons of purple amber, lily, and water spinach flowers are the main food sources of bees. Thanks to the combination of beekeeping under the primeval forest canopy, his bee raising costs are low while the honey quality is very high.

Along with raising bees for honey, he has also sold queen bees and bee keeping boxes with the selling price of VND1 million per hive of bees and VND100,000 a wooden bee box. Every year, he earns VND160 - VND180 million thanks to raising honeybees.

Concerned with the problem of fake honey being sold widely in the market, Mr. Du and the beekeepers in Tan Trao Commune established Tan Trao High Quality Beekeeping Cooperative. Since the establishment of the cooperative, they have exchanged their experiences, admitted new members, and found solutions to exploit the potential of Tan Trao special-use forest well for bee raising.

The pure wild honey products of the cooperative's members have become a typical local product in the tourism development strategy. Recently, Tan Trao High Quality Beekeeping Cooperative has registered the trademark "Tan Trao Honey". Tan Trao honey is packed in 65ml glass bottles with labels, logos, codes, and traceability stamps of the National Office of Intellectual Property. The selling price of Tan Trao honey is VND150,000 VND per bottle.

In the coming time, the cooperative will develop a "Tan Trao Honey"  Fanpage on social networks to enhance promotion and customer interaction towards online sales.
