Na Hang accelerates the agricultural commodities

TQO - To date, agricultural, forestry and fishery production in Na Hang district has gradually shifted towards commodity production on the basis of promoting local potential and benefits.

Tea products of Thuong Lam commune (Na Hang) are introduced in a festival, attracting a lot of visitors.

Shan Tuyet tea is considered as ‘green gold’ of Na Hang district with an area of 1,357 hectares. Of which, over 290 hectares of tea are certificated for production according to National Organic Agriculture standard with an expected output of 290 tons each year. To date, Na Hang Shan Tuyet tea products have been granted a certificate of Geographical Indication Registration, of which, 4 Shan Tuyet tea products have been certified as OCOP product.

Khau Lang sticky rice is a specialty rice variety of Na Hang with an area of 154,5 hectares and an output of 110 tons each year. Khau Lang sticky rice has been certified as a VIETGAP and three-star OCOP product. Currently, Thuong Nong Agricultural Cooperative and Thuong Giap Agricultural and Service Cooperative have contracted with people in the Khau Lang sticky rice linkage and consumption.

The district has also focused on developing herbals and specialty fruits such as pear, seedless persimmon, and local plum. In which, Khau Trang pear and seedless persimmon products have been certified as three-star OCOP products. These fruits not only bring high economic efficiency, but also have potential in tourism development.

Besides cultivation, animal husbandry is also a field with great potential in Na Hang. The district has concentrated on developing indigenous livestock breeds such as buffalo, goat and chicken. Especially, Na Hang black pig – a product that has been positioned in the market. Products from black pigs, including dried black pig and black pig sausage have been granted three-star OCOP certification, contributing to improving the local people’s incomes.

The Tuyen Quang hydroelectric reservoir area has become a great advantage for aquaculture development, with an output of 5,996 tons per year. There are 3 aquacultural businesses and 2 cooperatives in Na Hang certified for production according to VIETGAP standards.

To date, Na Hang district has possessed 29 OCOP products, of which there are 28 three-star products and 1 four-star product.

To sum up, specialty agricultural products of Na Hang district have gradually affirmed their position in the market both inside and outside the province.
