Lam Binh has all the factors for economic development from growing medicinal plants under the forest canopy such as soil, clean water, primitive forest with diverse ecosystems many rare and precious medicinal species.
According to the Division of Agriculture and Rural Development of Lam Binh District, there are nearly 100 hectares of medicinal herbs planted under the forest canopy in the locality with many types of medicinal herbs such as ardisia silvestris, gymnanthemum amygdalinum, stephania glabra, smilax, and cheilocostus speciosus, etc.
Currently, the district possesses 1 company, 2 cooperatives and some groups in the communes of Thuong Lam, Xuan Lap, Phuc Yen growing and developing economic from medicinal plants under the forest canopy.
On the basis of identifying potentials and advantages in the development of medicinal plants in the locality, Lam Binh District has planned to develop a large-scale medicinal plant area, supporting the opening of technical training courses on growing medicinal plants under the forest canopy and establishing a traditional medicine village in Phuc Yen Commune. Developing medicinal plants will create more products associated with tourism - agriculture development as well as improve people's living standards.
