Dao realized that Vinh Tan is a land that meets all climatic and soil conditions to grow tea. However, the tea tree has not really brought into full play its economic value and brought high income to the local people.

Therefore, she has pioneered organically grown hybrid tea with an area of 1 hectare. After that, she mobilized 6 more households in the village to convert from conventional hybrid tea to organic tea growing on an area of 6 hectares.

To create connection and sharing among households in tea production, she established a cooperative to link members in the cooperative with tea growing households in the locality in order to make a organic tea production materials.

Currently, in addition to 7 hectares of tea converted to organic tea cultivation by 7 members, the members of the cooperative also cooperate with households to form a tea area of 30 hectares under  VietGAP standards. Since the cooperative was established, the output, quality and economic value of tea of the cooperative have been improved compared to before.

On average, a member household sells 1 tonne of dry tea to the market each year, earning over VND100 million per year.

In addition, Dao has successfully experimented with producing lotus tea products in 2021. During a visit to her family's production model, a representative of the Japan International Cooperation Office JICA supported her family with a tea dryer and a vacuum machine to produce lotus tea.

She said that to make 1kg of lotus tea, producers have to use thousands of lotus flowers. Therefore, the price of 1kg of finished lotus tea is relatively high, because it depends on the price of lotus and tea.

Secretary of the Party Committee of Tan Trao Commune Ha Huu Tiep said that the lotus tea model of Dao's family along with the lotus lake check-in points is one of the highlights in the development of tourism experience of the commune. The commune is also creating all conditions to bring lotus tea product to become an OCOP product with 4-star standards in the near future.
