In 2017, Tam's family opened Tam Huong shop selling handmade products. In 2018, the Government implemented the OCOP program - One product per commune, he and his wife grasped the trend, actively researched and connected products with OCOP-oriented origin and origin in the province.
Accordingly, he came up with the idea of sustainable agricultural development with the "farm to fork" formula, also known as the 3F (Feed - Farm - Food) model. This is a closed and safe food production model from raising and growing on the farm to processing and consuming products.
Nguyen Dinh Tam (second from the left) and leaders of Korean agricultural product company survey the clean cabbage growing model in Khau Tinh Commune, Na Hang District.
In March 2021, he established Tam Huong Cooperative with 15 members of Dao and Mong people of Hong Thai Commune. Over the past time, the cooperative has supplied to the market a large amount of vegetables with stable prices. As a result, the cooperative has created a stable income for its members.
Along with the organic vegetable product was grown under the 3F formula, in 2020, he realised the model of raising indigenous black pigs and wild boars in order to proactively use clean and standard ingredients to process local products with Tam Huong brand such as dried pork, fermented pork, etc.
Since 2021, the cooperative has produced and supplied over 50 tonnes of native black pigs and commercial wild boars to the market. In which, the cooperative sells 30 tonnes of commercial pigs to traders, 20 tonnes are sold directly at Tam Huong store. In addition, the cooperative has breed poultry including chickens, geese, ducks with a total of over 2,000 poultry per year.
At the end of April, Tam Huong Cooperative opened a booth to introduce specialty OCOP products in Na Hang District at Na Hang night market during District Culture - Tourism Week 2022. The store has attracted thousands of visitors and become the highlight of the week.
