By adopting intensive farming method under VietGAP standards, the productivity of Tan Thai 168 Cooperative and Luan Ky Cooperative in Tan Thanh Commune, Ham Yen District, have increased to over 28 tonnes per hectare per year.

Local people in Quyet Thang Hamlet, My Bang Commune, Yen Son District, apply the Rainforest production process to increase tea productivity and quality.

The province is now home to over 2,000 hectares of tea which is being intensively cultivated under safe procedures, of which over 800 hectares are being produced under the Rainforest (international sustainable production) standards while the rest is being manufactured under the VietGAP and organic standards.

By the end of 2019, the average tea productivity per hectare in Tuyen Quang Province was estimated at 9 tonnes, the annual output of fresh buds reached over 64,000 tonnes, an increase of over 1.2 tonnes per hectare compared to 2014. In which, the annual productivity of tea areas under highly intensive farming was estimated at between 20 and 25 tonnes per hectare.

In Vietnam Tea Association’s rankings, Tuyen Quang Province was listed in the top 5 northern mountainous provinces in terms of productivity, output and quality of tea. The province's dried tea products have been exported directly to major markets including Russia, the US, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Pakistan, Taiwan (China), and several European countries.
